Sergio Lamberto graduated at the Conservatory “G.Verdi” from Turin and subsequently studied with Corrado Romano in Geneva and with Franco Gulli at “Accademia Chigiana” in Siena, where he got a merit diploma. He was the first violin-soloist of “Haydn Orchesta” of Trento and Bozen, and “Orchestra da Camera di Torino” from 1982 to 1991.
Since 1991 he has had in the same role in the “Turin Philarmonic Orchestra”: in this orchestra he is also the konzermeister of “The Strings of OFT”.
As soloist, first violin or konzertmeister, he has been invited by the “Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese”, Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Musikè France, Lisboa Festival Orchestra, Cantelli Orchestra of Milano and the Festival Musiké France.
Since 1987 he has been the violinist of the “Trio di Torino”, with which he won first prize (chamber music section) at the International Competition “G.Viotti” in Vercelli in 1990, the second prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka in 1993 and at the International Competition in Trapani in 1995.
With the “Trio di Torino” he has taken part in the most famous festivals and music associations in Italy, France, Austria , Germany, Spain, Switzeland, Japan, and has recorded music by Brahms, Dvorak, Shostakovitch, Smetana, Rubinstein, Chopin, Tanejev, Rachmaninov, exclusively for the label RS (www.realsound.it).
He also recorded for Naxos the Violin Sonata by Sandro Fuga, which is dedicated to him.
Since 1982 he has been teaching the violin at the Turin Conservatory “G.Verdi”. He has given courses at “Scuola di alto Alto Perfezionamento di Saluzzo”, and also in Bergolo, Capo Rizzuto, Belvedere Langhe, Sauze d’Oulx.
Recently he has been the trainer of the violin section of the “Orchestra Giovanile Italiana” at “Scuola di Musica” in Fiesole.
In the last four years he has been the principal guest violinist at “Festival Cello Arte” in Pays de Gex: for the presentation of the 2013 edition, he took part in a very important concert at the prestigious concert hall “Salle Cortot” in Paris.
He plays a “Pierre Dalphin” violin (Geneva 1991).
