Violinist Zeneba Bowers received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Eastman School of Music in the US. After serving as a concertmaster in the New World Symphony and in several European festivals (including the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy), Zeneba played for 20 years as the Assistant Principal Second Violin in the Nashville Symphony. She is also a Grammy-nominated producer in her role as founder and Artistic Director of Alias Chamber Ensemble, which commissioned dozens of new works and recorded four industry-acclaimed CDs. She has performed countless times on live national radio and TV throughout the US.
In 2019 Zeneba quit her various jobs and moved to Italy with her husband (cellist Matt Walker), where the two organize and perform concerts and cultural events. During the coronavirus lockdown in Spring 2020, they performed a series of 62 concerts from their balcony which were broadcast on Facebook and into the town square. This “Buonasera Soriano” series presented a different piece each night, in diverse styles from Baroque Italian to modern blues and jazz. The duo and their concert series were featured in prominent newspaper and TV outlets in the US and in Italy, including CBS Sunday Morning and Il Messaggero. Later in 2020 they created the ensemble “Cari Musici”, performing in several locations throughout central Italy. The two also performed in several events at the Narnia Festival, including two featured concerts – a program of early Italian Baroque pieces, and a set of American country-blues music.
