RODOLFO BONUCCI is considered one of the top representatives of new-generation concert performers in Italy. Among his teachers were Salvatore Accardo, Henryk Szering and for long time Arthur Grumiaux (of whom very often Rodolfo Bonucci has been recognized as the true heir by press and musicians). At the age of seventeen he was asked to join ensembles such as I Virtuosi di Roma and I Musici; with these he toured the US and several European countries as a leading soloist. He has performed with the greatest orchestras and in the main auditoriums in Italy and abroad ( Salle Gaveau and Pleyel in Paris, Philarmonic in Berlin, Beethoven Halle in Bonn, Geneva Conservatory, Vigadò in Budapest, Festival of Cannes and concerts in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Finland, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, Venezuela, Turkey, Belorus). In South America he played and conducted in Brazil (in Brasilia he performed the Tschajkowskij’s concerto for an audience of 10,000 persons) and in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Montevideo, Caracas and Mexico City. In 1990 he made his US debut with two concerts at the Carnegie Hall in New York. He performed the US première of Faure’s Violin Concerto in New York ad held recitals in San Francisco and other cities. In 1993/94 he played Beehoven’s 10 Sonatas in Detroit. He plays in Duo, among others, with Bruno Canino, Jörg Demus, Gyorgy Sandor. In recent years Mr.Bonucci has started a parallel and successfull activity as conductor, role in which he is gaining increasing appreciation. In june 2000, for his merits in Art, he was appointed “Officer” of the Italian Republic by Mr. the President of the Italian Republic. In june 2004 he’s been invited to conduct the 1st. world premiere of the Opera “Die Freunde von Salamanka” by Schubert in the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Recently Mr. Bonucci was appointed life member of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. In 2006 Mr. Bonucci has been appointed professor of the upgrade high school in violin by the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
