Klara Flieder was born in a family of Viennese musicians and studied with Grete Biedermann at the Vienna Conservatory, obtaining her diploma “with honours”. She then completed her studies with Christian Ferras in Paris and Arthur Grumiaux in Brussels. She took part in master classes with Henryk Szeryng, Nathan Milstein and Augustin Dumay.
She has given many concerts throughout Europe, both as soloist and as chamber musician. Klara Flieder performed at international festivals (Kuhmo Festival in Finland, Midsummer Music Festival Umea in Sweden, Carinthischer Sommer,…) and in famous concert halls such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the South Bank Center in London.
Klara Flieder was a longstanding member of the Flieder Trio. She collaborated with renowned musicians such as Pierre Amoyal, Roberto Benzi, Vladimir Mendelssohn or Ernst Kovacic.
She is a member of the “Leschetizky Trio-Vienna” and has recorded for EMI, Dabringhaus & Grimm, Extraplatte and Preiser Records.
Klara Flieder has taught at the Music Universities of Vienna and Graz and regularly gives master classes in Austria, Sweden and Spain.
In 2005, Klara Flieder was appointed Professor at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg.
