Katharina Fasoli-von Harten started playing the violin at the age of 6. After having studied with the concert master of the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, Stefan Wagner, she began her studies at the University of Music Trossingen (Germany) with Prof. Winfried Rademacher, and got the Diplom Musiklehrer in 2005, then completed her studies at the University of Music Freiburg (Germany) with Prof. Rainer Kussmaul, and received the Diplom Künstlerische Ausbildung in the year 2007.
2004 she had an apprentice year in the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, since then she works also with the Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim. From 2006 to 2008 she was a member of the Academy of the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, where she also had a temporary employment until 2009. There she had the possibilities to work with conductors like Zubin Metha, Kent Nagano and Kirill Petrenko. In the years 2010/2011 she played in the Staatstheater Stuttgart (Germany), principal conductor till 2011 Manfred Honeck, where she could work with Juraj Valcuha and Patrick Fournillier.
Katharina Fasoli-von Harten has given a lot of concerts as a soloist and as a chamber musician in various groups. Lastly, she played the violin concertos of Haydn and Mozart with different orchestras in Germany and Italy.
Especially interested into the Contemporary Music, she played in the Ensemble Modern Orchestra with Pierre Boulez as the conductor, and since 2002 she is the first solo violin of the Ensemble PolyphonieT, where she could cooperate with composers like Dieter Schnebel and Hans Zender, and with soloists like Jean-Guihen Queyras and Chen Halevi.
Conducted by Kent Nagano she was the concertmaster in the premiere of the music theater “liebe.nur liebe“ composed by Minas Borboudakis (2007).
Katharina Fasoli-von Harten is playing regularly with the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg and the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden (Switzerland). Since 2011 she is the first concertmaster of the Theatre Giuseppe Verdi in Sassari, Italy and she is the manager of the string department of the Musical Academy of Taggia, Italy. Since 2015 she is a member of the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester.
