A pupil of M.° Pari and M.° Amadori, Claudio Casadei graduated with full marks and laude at Pesaro Conservatory , being also the winner of the “G.Filippini” prize as
“best student” of that academic year. He then attended summer master classes at the Academy of Lenk (Switzerland) with M.Stocker and studied in Fiesole with F.Rossi ( a member of “Quartetto Italiano”) .
Even before getting his diploma, he had won the “Teatro alla Scala” competition for the place of first cello and also the competition for the European Youth Orchestra .
Afterwards , he played with the Orchestra and the soloists of the “Teatro alla Scala” at the personal invitation of the famous conductor Claudio Abbado.
Claudio Casadei has carried out an intense concert activity both as a soloist and in chamber formations. He also played in duo with the pianist Giovanni Valentini with whom he was awarded prizes in national and international Competitions.
In 1984, he performed with “Trio di Pesaro” (violin, cello and piano), with which he made concerts in all the most important Italian cities and recorded television programmes for the Italian Broadcasting Network RAI. In 1989 he won an audition at the “ Morlacchi “theatre in Perugia as ” first cello ” of the “Orchestra Sinfonica dell’Umbria”, cooperating with worldwide famous conductors. He was for several years first cello and soloist for the “Simphonia Perusina” chamber formation and in that period he worked at a number of records and toured in Austria, Malta ,Czechoslovakia, Spain, Germany ,France, and Russia.
Later, he studied to become a conductor with Maestro L.Ferrara . He directed in Italy and abroad, working with soloists of world- wide renown such as :C.Gasdia, C.Rossi, C. Ferrarini, V.Mariozzi, G.Kiss, M. Larrieu, C.Piastra, F.Ajo, R.Vernizzi , M.Pertusi, F. Mondelici, M. Mercelli,I.Grubert.
As a cellist and a conductor he recorded for the” Bongiovanni” record company and for the “Wide”. Since 1997, he has recorded exclusively with Mondo Musica Verlags in Munich, with which he has already made several CDs.
He is regularly invited to be a jury member in national and international competitions and in 1992 he worked as a member of the National Ministerial Committee for the competition for the chairs of cello in Italian Conservatories.
He is artistic director of the National Competition “ Luigi Zanuccoli” which is held in Sogliano (Rimini) and the president of the Music Association “DEAMUSICA” based in Rimini.
He teaches cello at the “G.Rossini” Conservatory in Pesaro, and plays the XVII century “Domenico Rogieri” cello which belonged to P.Casals.
