Alessandra Montani graduated with honors in 1996 from Morlacchi Conservatory in Perugia. She continued her studies with Mario Brunello (Accademia Chigiana of Siena), Marianne Chen (Centro Sammarinese Studi Musicali), Rocco Filippini, and, for chamber music, Pier Narciso Masi (Imola Music Academy).

In 2007 she got her Academic Degree of high level at the Conservatorio Briccialdi in Terni with top marks and in 2010 she got the habilitation to teach.

She has been awarded with many prizes in national and International competitions: Stresa, Lame- zia Terme, Vittorio Veneto, chamber music competition Zinetti (Verona), etc. She started her busy concert activity playing with many ensembles and orchestras: Solisti Aquilani, Umbria Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of Rome and Lazio as “concertino”; as first cello with Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, Artem Orchestra, Orchestra Teatro Cucinelli.

Due to her great dedication to chamber music, she has played in the USA, Canada, Spain, Germany, Austria, and France, with many different groups from trio to sextet. In 2003 she joined the Quartetto di Roma, with which, she has taken part in many European festivals. In 2008 she had concerts and she taught masterclasses for the Academy of Fine Art in Singapore and in 2016 for Stanford University in San Francisco. In 2010 and in 2011 she was invited to perform for the prestigious Filarmonica of Berlin. In Spain, she had the honor of playing the priceless Stradivari at Palacio Real of Madrid. With this group, she recorded 8 CDs.

In 2000 she approaches ancient music, discovering a true passion for this repertoire. She then starts the study of the baroque instrument, attending the Scuola Civica of Milan with Gaetano Nasillo and then going on with her continuous study to acquire deeper knowledge of the composers of this period. A founding member of the Hermans Baroque Academy, she records with this ensemble 18 CDs for Bongiovanni, Tactus, Bottega Discantica, Brilliant Classic, Glossa and she performed for the most important concert seasons in Spain, Portugal, Holland, Finland, Germany, Serbia (Nomus Festival, Switzerland (Sion Festival), England (Wigmore Hall in Londra), Russia (Ekaterimburg Philamonie), Estonia, many times in the USA, Canada, Japan e Mexico, Belgium, Algeria, Norway.
