Born in Fermo in 1964, Carlo Onori began studying the cello at the age of six at the Conservatory G. B. Pergolesi of Fermo where was awarded by Cassa di Risparmio with the “Golden report card” as best pupil, then graduating from the Conservatory G. Rossini of Pesaro under the guidance of prof. W. Di Stefano. He then studied with R. Aldulescu at the Lisy Academy, with A. Janigro and M. Brunello in Mezzolombardo, with A. Baldovino in Fiesole and the Trio di Trieste at the Accademia Chigiana.
he was a founding member of the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana where he was principal cellist and at the age of 21 he was the winner of the competitions of the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Firenze and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, where currently he serves as Concertino with the obligation of the first, and principal cellist of the Baroque Orchestra.
With the Klavier Trio won the competitions of Capri and Pozzuoli, was first cello soloist of “I Cameristi Italians” and worked in the Chamber season of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia with violinists as L. Kavakos and S. Malik, and pianists such as A. Lonquic, A. Tharaud and R. Bahrami, playing for the Chamber and for the Senate in the presence of the President of the Republic of Italy.
He is also first solo cellist of the Orchestra of the Ludovicea Chapel in Trinità dei Monti, specializing in sacred music, and a member of the ensemble “I Cameristi di Santa Cecilia” with which it carries out activities in Italy and abroad.
