Lucio Del Vescovo began his musical studies at the age of eight years and graduated successfully in piano with Elena Matteucci, in Composition with Alessandro Cusatelli and, with honors, in orchestral conducting (master) with Marcello Bufalini at the Conservatorio “A. Casella” in L’Aquila, Italy.
From June 2001 to May 2002, he attended the Academy at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where he had the opportunity to study with internationally renowned musicians and to perform in chamber ensembles and orchestras at prestigious venues (Teatro alla Scala, Arcimboldi Theatre, Sala Verdi etc.). For his musical training were also important to study with Marco Zuccarini, Jeff Cohen, Brigitte Balleys, Luis Bacalov, Martin Sieghart, Wolfang Bozic, Johannes Prinz, Jorge Perez Gomez at institutions such as “Accademia Chigiana” Siena, “Conservatoire de Strasbourg”, “Universität für Musik und Kunst darstellende” in Graz. As a pianist, he is active mainly in the field of chamber music: he has performed in duo with Enzo Filippetti, Steven Mauk and Claude Delangle, Stephen Burns, Giuliano Sommerhalder, and in chamber ensemble with Calogero Palermo, Eliseo Smordoni, Madlen Stokic, Luca Signorini, participating in important national and international festivals. He has considerable experience as an accompanist for singers: he worked in the drama classes for Caesar Scarton (Conservatory of L’Aquila) and Adriana Morelli (Briccialdi Institute of Terni). As a piano accompanist, he has taken part in important master classes: Steven Mauk, Giuseppe Sabbatini, Fabrizio Meloni, Rien de Reede, Claude Delangle, Giampio Mastrangelo, Monica Bacelli, Asako Yoshikawa, Calogero Palermo, Salvatore Vella, Andrea Lucchi, Umberto Clerici, Luca Signorini, Giuliano Sommerhalder, Domenico Orlando, Eliseo Smordoni…to name but a few.. In the role of accompanist, he has worked with renowned conductors (Riccardo Muti, Carlo Rizzari, Fabio Biondi).
As a composer, he is the author of music for plays and short films. Lucio is an arranger and conductor of the orchestra Musicomix, founded in 2007 with the duo Dosto & Yevski , which offers musical comedy shows that are fast gaining widespread support (Teatro Eliseo in Rome, “musicaRivafestival” of Riva del Garda).
As a conductor he ranges from symphonic repertoire to the premieres of works by contemporary composers. He conducted the Kronstadt Philharmonic orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Orchestra of the Conservatory of L’Aquila, Continuo Ensemble…
Currently he serves as piano accompanist at the Graduate School of Music “Briccialdi” of Terni and he is also a teacher of music theory and piano accompanist in pre-academic courses at the Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia” in Rome.
